Web Development Opportunities

The trends of programming and web development has proven to be one of the most viable digital literacy skills of interest to young people as it has been estimated that in 2020 Nigeria had over 99.5 million internet users with 46.6% penetration rate projected to grow to 131.7 million users by 2023 with 65.2% penetration in 2025. Programming and web development is the key driver to the realization of this projection which stands to create more access to internet penetration and enhance young peoples’ participation in the digital economy. However, only 9% of young people possess the relevant programming and web development skills to bridge the gap in internet penetration and harness the opportunity.

Mashiah Foundation’s Youth Ministry Leadership and computer institute strives to equip young people with relevant programming and web development skills to enhance their participation in internet optimization and digital economy for economic growth. This will strengthen young Nigerians to compete more favorably with other programmers around the world.

Web development trends change, dictating new directions for business owners and web developers. In the world today, there are more than 1.74 billion websites on the internet. Each site differs through its concept and strategy, related to development, design, content, or digital marketing.

Web Development Overview

There are two broad divisions of web development – front-end development (also called client-side development) and back-end development (also called server-side development). Front-end development refers to constructing what a user sees when they view a web application – the content, design and how you interact with it. This is done with three codes – HTML, CSS and JavaScript.    click here to register.
